Sunday night, Showtime‘s Emmy award-winning drama, “Homeland” returns for its third season and as a fan of the show, I can’t help but ask one important question: will it be as sh*tty as the second season?
When “Homeland” first debuted, it was a huge hit. Fans loved it because it was so raw and real, with compelling story-lines, characters and edge of your seat moments that left us wanting more. The biggest issue with the first season: Damian Lewis‘s character, Sergeant Nicholas Brody,didn’t die!
If you’re reading this article, one should assume you watch the show, so I won’t get into unnecessary details, but Brody should have blown himself up in the season one finale. That would have made “Homeland” season one arguably the greatest single season of any show on television, ever.
Instead, they decided to have him chicken out, and give us a second season filled with a love story that made the average viewer want to puke. What happened to recent Emmy award winner Claire Danes‘s great character Carrie Mathison?
The woman who loved her country more than anything else, was really going to throw it all away on a terrorist!? Come on! The writers on “Homeland” made plot decisions in the second season that most shows would make in their fifth or sixth season because they ran out of fresh ideas and needed crazy twists. It was like watching the insanity of “24″ all over again, except with out Jack Bauer yelling “Damn it!” before verbally abusing Chloe O’Brian (“Damn it, Chloe!”).

Will Saul (Mandy Patinkin) make it into Adam Sandler‘s next Hanukkah song?

Will the show continue to be a sappy love story?
How many times will Carrie cry?
How many terrorists will Carrie bang?
Will Anne Hathaway replace Claire Danes as the new Carrie?
Will terrorists continue to Skype call each other from within the White House?
Or will they learn to use FaceTime?
Will we see Brody’s wife naked again?
Will Brody finally die?
Will Quinn continue to be the only compelling character on the show?
