#10 People that cant use the toilet properly
Yep…We all have experienced it…you need to take a number 2 and you walk in and there is a number 1 EVERYWHERE! I mean come on! And if its not a number 2 you need to do….and a number one…its like leap frog to get away from all the number one ponds that have been left in the cubicle or the urinal…Come on gents…hold em and spray em in the RIGHT DIRECTION!
#9 Bouncers Letting their Friends in and Making You Wait
This is about the little red rope and ‘we being at capacity’ yet they can let all their mates in with no problems and give them stamps for free entry! Don’t get me wrong! I know plenty of bouncers that will help my crew out…but they are not arrogant/selfish about it.
#8 Bouncers not taking bribes (your pockets aren’t deep enough)
HOOOOHOO! Alright. So I’m sure you have all been in this situation where the line is 1000000000 meters long and everyone standing in it (especially the end) think they are getting in when the club is at near capacity…don’t get me started on the logic of the people at the back…But then you go to the front bouncer with cash in your hand ready to do the handshake and exchange the ‘envelope of happiness’ and you clarify by saying…mate…$200 and you let me and 2 mates in…and you get a slap in the face with a comment…”your pockets aren’t deep enough!”….
umm…WTF!?! Your mind starts spinning and tells you…these bouncers are LUCKY to make that in a night!!! I mean COME ON!
umm…WTF!?! Your mind starts spinning and tells you…these bouncers are LUCKY to make that in a night!!! I mean COME ON!
#7 Paying for entry
My pet hate! Paying $15 cover charge….I mean…really you need to charge me to enter your club when I’m about to drop $500 on the bar and leave me waiting with that silly red rope and bouncer attitude? I mean if that is the case…you should be paying to come in to capitalise on my margins! I mean…let me in for free and I’ll spend $1,000 if you are polite…as opposed to $500 if you are not! Think it through…Seriously. Its like a restaurant asking for a bond to come and sit at table! Do you really think I’m coming in to stand around and do nothing!? I want to drink! So WHY CHARGE ME FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE YOU MORE MONEY!!!!!
#6 No smoking in the eating area
Now this is hilarious. I can smoke if I move to the stairs…yet I can’t smoke at the bottom of the stairs…I’m sorry but does 1 meter REALLY make a difference?!?! Welcome to Australia…The land of rules and regulation. How is it that being 1 meter from a food eating area… its okay. Its all the same! Ridiculous…and to all the non smokers out there preaching that it does…quick questions…when you stand on a busy road, how much smoke do you think you inhale from passing cars? I bet you not even anywhere close to my cigarette.
#5 Waiting for that little red rope to be opened
Oh that little little little red rope. They just get their kicks off it! I mean how many times have you been at the front of the line…the very front and your told…30 mins, yet their friends rock up and it’s a free ride in. I can understand if you look like douche bag, but if you are polite and dressed nice and the bouncer…or in their eyes…them being god…can let 20 of their mates in…what difference does it make if they let another 3 people in that are polite…Oh! Capacity mate…capacity! COME ON! Get of your high horse and go to the yods to relieve that stress and anxiety that has been pent up inside!
#4 Shoes aren’t good enough mate
LOL! Have you ever gone out to some little club where the dress code is neat/casual…and the bouncer at the door stares at your Tiger shoes…and says…mate…I understand your wearing nicely fitted and hemmed jeans…an nice collar and a jacket to match…but I’m sorry, your shoes have a little speck of white on them and won’t let you in…I mean Jesus who are you mate? The fashion police?!?! I mean come on mate, my shoes are more expensive than your whole outfit!
#3 Packed Clubs
I understand ratios and crowd control…but I mean come on. Lets leave people some room. There is nothing worst than going into a club and having to sit/stand in a sardine can as the greedy owners or bouncers have let everyone under the sun in!
#2 Bartenders that ignore you
So…I have my wallet on the counter…my cash sitting on top of my wallet…clearly I was next…yet for some reason I have been ignored. WTF!?! Is it because you can’t stand the thought of me being better than you? Or is it because your mates are around and you have to serve them.
Come on! Your mates only come here to score free drinks while I am a paying customer who is willing to spend money…but hey its not your business…be a douche…Then after that you are still ignored for that smoking lady that just rocked up…common courtesy…out the window…well mate you can expect nothing in tips and nothing in courtesy as you have shown me none!
#1 Douche bags that take their tops off
I mean really…come on. I can still remember the time when I was talking to my bouncer mate at Geisha (FYI…Best club in Perth) when he rejected a little man…and the little man started verbally abusing him and then decided to take his top off after he had been smacked to the ground and try and start something. I mean come on…taking your shirt/top off…please enlighten me as to what that proves? If you can fight…does it really matter if your top is on or off….PLEASE!

#5 Brunei
Where is Brunei? It’s a little place that takes up approximately 5,700 square kilometres in Southeast Asia. Again, this country is derives the majority of its wealth from oil and gas! Approximately per day they produce 167,000 barrels of oil plus the gas that they produce! It is a very strict place with very tight law and order. The population is under 500,000. Interesting fact…the P{resident is one of the richest in the world and has a plane inlaid with gold, he has over 1900 cars…20 of them being Lamborghinis! I mean when does he drive them?!!?
#4 Norway
Another small little place in the world! Its size is approx. 385,000 square kilometres. It has approximately 5 million people. It’s a very very old place and has a long history of development to seeding parts of Europe from their tribes that descended down from Norway. What does Norway do to get spot number 4 on our little list? It is a free market state and also a government owned state in certain areas. It has a lot of petrol and oil reserves which is essentially controlled by the government. Some fun facts, Norway has free health care and parents have 46 weeks paid leave. There are about 450,000 lakes. Parts of the movie the Empire Strikes Back during the Hoth scenes were filmed there. They have an underwater tunnel that is 287 meters deep!
#3 Singapore
Now if you have ever travelled internationally you may have passed/stopped over in Singapore. It is a massive hub for international connections. It comes in third in our little list. Its absolutely TINY! Taking up a massive space on our earth of only 710 square kilometres!!! Yet, it has a population of over 5 million people!!! It has 63 islands around it that are uninhabited. To own a car, you need a permit and the application fee for it, just the permit that is approx. $70,00 USD! It has a super high tech army! It essentially is country built on trade and investment and again is very similar to a tax haven with the little tax you pay!
#2 Luxemburg
Where is Luxemburg? Well its nestled on a little piece of land in Europe surrounded by Belgium, Germany and our French friends! How big is this place you ask? Well, its absolutely TINY! Only 2,500 odd square kilometres. SO what does this small little nation do to take out second spot? Well, private banking and an investment fund center. In other words a place to store money! Or if you like your facts put bluntly…a tax haven! Interesting facts about this place – It has approx. 500,000 people…yet it’s the second wealthiest country in the world! Luxembourgish is a language spoken! The capital being named the same as the country, being Luxemburg…has a population of approx. 75,000 people.
#1 Qatar
I know right!!! Qatar! Where is it and how is it pronounced! Ka-TaRR (Yes, the R is extended and it is kind of rolled). It’s a little place in the Western Asia being the size of just over 11,000 square kilometres. To put that into perspective…its
So what is in Qatar anyway to make it so rich? Well, Oil and Natural Gas, but before it was focused on fishing and pear hunting. Interesting fun facts about Qatar, nobody pays income tax, approximately 14% of the population are millionaires…bearing in mind the population is approx. only 2 million people! Its been the richest country for 3 times running! 2/3 of the population are males. It imports 90% of its food. Petrol is ridiculously cheap… and buy ridiculous I mean a litre of unleaded is 0.18EUR…or 0.24 USD.

#5 The Cullinan
Found in 1905 in South Africa…literally just sitting idly around on the rock face of a mine 9 meters underground and excavated with a pocket knife. Its size was 3106 carats, and when divided up, it created 9 major diamonds, 96 smaller ones and additional pieces totalling 9.5 carats. What happened to it? Well it was given to the Royal Family as a birthday present and has remained with them in their crown jewels since. Why this name? Well, It was named after the individual, Sir Thomas Cullinan who actually owned the mined. Another interesting fact about it, it is thought the superintendent who found it, actually broke off a chunk for himself which was almost just as big as the one he handed in. Never proven but theorised that the diamond was actually a lot larger than what was reported!
#4 The Excelsior
Found in 1893 in South Africa, again by pretty much dumb luck, instead of a thorough, calculated, engineered mining process. It was found while a worker was loading a truck by shovelling gravel. It weighed 995 carats. The diamond sat around in a vault for a while, as they usually do and eventually was diced up into smaller pieces, hence not taking its place among the famous larger gemstones. It was cut into 11 smaller stones and from there, essentially was tragically removed from history as a famous and magnificent stone.
#3 Millennium Star
Found in the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) in 1990 and iots rough size was a whopping 777 carats. The older diamonds went through a manual cutting process that was painstaking but this one, due to technology advances was cut with modern laser technology, taking over 3 years to produce the final result. There was an attempted theft of this diamond in the year 2000 through smash and grab tactics while it was on display in London, however the robbery failed. It currently sits with De Beers in their monumental collection.
#2 The Star of Sierra Leone
Found in 1972, in, yes you guessed it, Sierra Leone. It came in at a massive 968 carats. It ranks as the largest alluvial diamond ever discovered, meaning that it was in top soil of the ground! It is the second diamond that makes the top 10 ever found in a common area for diamond miners being the Woyie River. After being cut, it eventually got made into 30 gemstones after an original flaw was uncovered.
#1 The Hope Diamond
This diamond is actually blue! We thought to include it in this list, as though it is only 45 carats, it has a mysterious history. Firstly, no one where It was found and there is no solid detail as to who originally owned it and where it came from or what year it was when it was found, and also its original size. It has gone through approx. 20 plus owners that range from kings, explorers, diamond merchants and museums. Over it course a curse of misfortune has started fuelled by stories all with the Hope diamond. Out of the individuals that have worm it, owned it, borrowed it…22 of them have perished ion unusual circumstances. I guess there is only one way to find out!? Anybody want to help write a cheque to the Smithsonian?

#7 Netherlands North Sea Protection Works
Now I had never heard of this before writing up this article. Obviously they are located in Netherlands, which is one of the lowest lying countries in the world; hence it has large risks of flooding from the sea. Essentially, this project was to protect the whole country from flooding! Without these works, essentially Netherlands in this day would not exist.
#6 Panama Canal
This Canal connects the Atlantic with the Pacific. It was explored by the King of Spain in 1532 however his engineers and ambassadors where of the opinion it was impossible, and back then, it probably was. After this, the French attempted to construct it however gave up due to the loss of life it created by accidents and jungle illness. Then the Americans took over. They used a different design which essentially had the ships being lowered and raised during different stages of the canal. These mechanisms where called locks and used nearby dams. It is 77km long and opened in 1914. It made the wonders list in 1994.
#5 Itaipu Dam
This is a ridiculous man made dam in Brazil, which essentially powers 25% of the country in Brazil and 90% of its neighbour, Paraguay! Essentially it creates as much energy as 434,000 barrels of oil per day would. It was started in 1971 and was finished in 1984. Its 225 meters tall and 7.2km long and cost a whopping $18 billion dollars. It required 40,000 workers to build and while the construction was happening, a new little community for them was built, much like the mine sites these days, however they did not fly in and fly out, but lived there until the end of the project.
#4 Golden Gate Bridge
It is 2,737 meters long. A ridiculous length! It cost approx. $35 million to construct in 1937, which back then, was again a ridiculous amount of money. Its constantly being painted. As soon as they get to one end, they start painting again, and this process uses 10,000 gallons of paint a year. It made the wonders list ion 1994. It took 4.5 years to construct and the use of it is around 40,000,000 vehicles per year, which is approx. 110,000 vehicles per day. It weighs 887,000 tons….Oh, and it’s a suicide hotspot, with people jumping from it since 1937 totalling over 1300.
#3 Empire State Building
It is only 4 feet taller than the Chrysler Building. It stands at 1,454 feet. You can actually moor a blimp to its mast! It occurred once in 1931. It has had a plane smash into it…and it survived (the building I mean, not the plane). It has 102 floors. It held its titled of world’s tallest skyscraper until 1972.
#2 The CN Tower
This was actually built to help spread communication throughout the city as the skyscrapers started blocking radio and microwave signals. They started building it in 1972 and took 4 years to complete. During the architecture decided to add on a sky deck where people could go have a look at the skyline from above. It hit 553 meters high (or 1,815 ft) and was the tallest structure until 2007. It gets hit by lighting approximately 75 times per year and has a weight equivalent to 35 Eiffel Towers. It was crowned into the wonders list in 1995.
#1 Channel Tunnel
This is a tunnel under the sea! May not sound that impressive, but this tunnel actually links France and England! Completed in 1994, its length is approximately 50 km or 31 miles. It sits approximately 150 meters under the sea. It was conceived in the year 1802 and in 1857 an engineer actually started diving under the channel to see if it was indeed possible. Yes, he was diving back in 1857. The tunnel only handles trains, however, that’s not saying you can’t drive to a special stop and drive onto a special a carriage and be taken by train in your car under the tunnel! It was one of the largest construction projects commenced and makes the list of wonders!
